The ST-R8170 STI levers feature optimised ergonomics and lightning-fast shifting. Servowave technology provides extended brake control range and for individual adjustment, the levers feature the option of reach and free stroke adjustment.

All around improved, the Shimano Ultegra BR-R8170 caliper offers quieter braking performance and extremely simplified maintenance. The 10% increase in brake pad spacing allows for a significant reduction in noise during braking. To simplify maintenance, the hydraulic 2-piston brake caliper not only features the proven One-Way- Brake Bleeding system, but also a separate arrangement of bleed nipple and opening screw. On the one hand, this minimises the risk of the bleed kit hose slipping off when opening or closing the system and, on the other hand, makes it unnecessary to dismantle the caliper from the frame for brake bleeding process.
